A strong tower

A single stone tower stands firm on a hill while a small bird shelters in a window-hole near its top, wind-blown rain drawn as a few slanted lines around it, with the words “a strong tower” lettered by hand.

Merciful God, please be a strong tower of protection for us now. Help us wait for your timing and patiently bear what you do with us, never doubting your goodness to us, because you know what’s good for us better than we do. So do with us whatever you want. Only dress us in your protection so we can stand firm, and above all, help us take up the shield of faith. Help us pray always, give ourselves wholly to your will, wait for you, and find comfort in the troubles you send us, since they do us good. We’re sure that everything you do can only be good. All glory to you, now and forever. Amen.

The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
