Morning prayer · 26 November

Lead me where you want

A small leaf let loose on a flowing stream, drifting freely with the current rather than struggling against it, its edges relaxed and open.

Father of mercies, here I am. I give myself and all I have to you. I depend on your generosity for whatever you think right and needful for me. Your truth and faithfulness are my best security. Your wisdom satisfies me in whatever happens. Your power holds me up, protects me and keeps me safe. Lead me wherever you want, and I’ll follow you with a cheerful heart. I refuse nothing that comes from your hands, most loving Father. I accept your direction, and I hope that all things will work together for my good. And I trust your grace to keep me holding on to you like this, never letting anything that happens pull me away from this humble faith in your wise and almighty goodness. Amen.

The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; You have made my lot secure.
