Morning prayer · 10 October

Finish what you began

A half-knitted scarf on needles sits on a table, with an unseen hand's needle just entering to pick up the next stitch where the knitter left off.

Lord our God, look at us and hear us. Help the efforts we make to please you, efforts you yourself have given us. You gave us the first wish to do it, so give us the finishing of the work too. You’ve made us want to begin; now make us able to finish. Amen.

being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Philippians 1:6 (BSB)
