The one who put the Teacher’s words together

He wrote it. I’m just adding a note at the end.

Nobody knows my name. The Teacher’s words came through me, and at the end of the book I say a few things of my own about him, and about what it all comes to.

Known for

  • “Fear God and keep His commandments” (Ecclesiastes 12:13)
  • “There is no end to the making of many books” (Ecclesiastes 12:12)

A note from me, not him. The Teacher was wise, and he taught people what he knew. He weighed up and arranged a lot of proverbs. He looked for the right words, and he wrote down what was true.

So here’s where it all lands. Fear God and keep his commands. That’s what every person is here for. God will judge everything we do, even what’s hidden, good or bad.
