Okay, news from the palace. King Jehoiachin of Judah has been a prisoner here thirty-seven years. The new king of Babylon, Evil-merodach, has let him out. Spoke kindly to him, gave him a seat above all the other kings in Babylon. He’s out of his prison clothes, and he’ll eat at the king’s table every day for the rest of his life.
