It is John the Baptist. Risen from the dead. That would explain the powers.

Ruler of Galilee. Kept his word. Regretted it.
Son of Herod the Great, ruling Galilee under Rome as tetrarch, a governor over one part of my father’s kingdom. I married Herodias, my brother Philip’s wife. John the Baptist told me I had no right to. I had him locked up.

Everyone has a theory. John back from the dead. Elijah. One of the old prophets. I beheaded John myself. So who, exactly, is this man I keep hearing about? I should very much like to see him.
Finally got to see him. Was rather hoping for a miracle. Asked him question after question. Not one answer. So we had our fun, dressed him in a fine robe and sent him back to Pilate.

Asked him question after question. Nothing. Not one word. Waste of a morning. We had our fun, put a fancy robe on him and sent him back to Pilate.
Who is this man I keep hearing such things about? I should rather like to see him.
Everyone’s got a theory about the teacher from Nazareth. John the Baptist back from the dead. Elijah. One of the old prophets. Take your pick.
