Cedar. Craftsmen. Ships. Good neighbour.

King of Tyre on the coast north of Israel. I sent cedar to David for his palace, and when his son Solomon asked, I sent timber and my best craftsman for the temple.

Replying to @solomon

Praise the LORD today, for giving David a wise son to rule that great nation. Cedar and cypress, whatever you want. My men will bring it down from Lebanon to the sea and float it in rafts down the coast to wherever you say. You feed my household.

Twenty towns in Galilee. That’s what Solomon’s given me, for all the cedar and cypress and gold I sent. Went to have a look at them. Not impressed. What are these towns you’ve given me, my brother? I’m calling them the land of Cabul. Roughly: good for nothing.

Because the LORD loves his people, he’s made you their king. I’m sending you Huram-abi. His mother’s from Dan, his father’s from Tyre, and he can work anything: gold, silver, bronze, iron, stone, wood, yarn. We’ll float the logs down the coast to you at Joppa.
