Thirty-seven years a prisoner in Babylon. This year Evil-merodach became king, and he let me out. Spoke kindly to me. Gave me a seat above the other kings here with him. I’ve taken off my prison clothes, and I eat at the king’s table every day. He’s given me an allowance for the rest of my life.
