Kindly note: Jeremiah is telling everyone that whoever surrenders to the Babylonians will live. He’s taking the heart out of the soldiers we’ve got left, and everyone else. This man should die. He’s not after what’s good for these people. He wants their ruin.

We understand the king had Jeremiah brought to him. We duly asked Jeremiah what was discussed. He states that he was begging the king not to send him back to Jonathan’s house to die. There were no other witnesses. The matter is closed.
