Got my own shrine. And my own priest.

I live in the hill country of Ephraim. Not Micah the prophet; that’s centuries later. I have a shrine at home, with an ephod, household gods, and an idol my mother had made. For a while one of my sons was the priest. Then a Levite turned up.

  • Returning his mother’s stolen silver (Judges 17:2)
  • Hiring a Levite as his private priest (Judges 17:10–13)
  • Losing his gods and his priest to the Danites (Judges 18:24)

Mum had eleven hundred pieces of silver stolen and put a curse on whoever took it. So, yeah. It was me. Gave it back. She had some of it made into an idol. So now I've got a shrine.

Hired a Levite as my priest. Ten pieces of silver a year, plus clothes and food. Now I know the LORD will be good to me.
