Only says what the LORD tells him. The king hates that.

A prophet of the LORD in Ahab’s day. Four hundred prophets told the king what he wanted to hear. I told him what I saw.

The king asked me: go to war or not? I told him: go up and win, the LORD will hand it to the king. He said how many times do I have to make you swear to tell me only the truth? So I told him the truth. I saw all Israel scattered on the hills, like sheep with no shepherd.

Then I told him what else I saw. The LORD on his throne, all the armies of heaven standing round him, and the question: who will lure Ahab into going up to fall at Ramoth-gilead? A spirit offered to be a lying spirit in the mouths of all his prophets. So there it is. The LORD has put a lying spirit in all four hundred, and he has announced disaster for you.

Zedekiah walked up and slapped me in the face. Asked which way the Spirit of the LORD went when it left him to speak to me. I said: you’ll find out the day you go and hide in an inner room.

Being taken to prison. Bread and water until the king comes back safely. I told him: if you ever come back safely, the LORD hasn’t spoken through me. Everyone, you heard me.
