Two kings on two thrones at the gate of Samaria, in full royal robes. Some four hundred prophets before them, all saying the same thing: go up, the Lord will hand it to the king. The king of Judah enquired whether there was not also a prophet of the LORD we might consult. Our king advised that there is one, Micaiah son of Imlah. He hates him. He never prophesies anything good about him, only bad.

I was the one sent to fetch Micaiah. Kindly advised him on the way: every prophet is saying something good for the king. Please say what they are saying. His reply: he will say whatever the LORD tells him, and nothing else. He swore to it.
