Could one find another man like this, with the spirit of God in him? I think not.

Two dreams. One Hebrew.
King of Egypt. I dreamed twice in one night, and none of my magicians or wise men could tell me what it meant. My cupbearer finally remembered a young Hebrew in prison. I put him in charge of the whole country.

Seven thin cows ate seven fat ones, and looked no better for it. Not one of my wise men could tell me what it meant. A Hebrew prisoner could: seven years of plenty, then seven years of famine. I have put him in charge of the whole land of Egypt.
The sound of weeping reached the palace. Joseph’s brothers have arrived. They are to bring their father and their households here, and the best of Egypt is theirs. Wagons will be provided for their little ones and their wives. Kindly tell them not to worry about their belongings.
Joseph presented his father to me today. An old shepherd, and he blessed me. The king of Egypt. I enquired as to his age. A hundred and thirty, he said, and his years have been few and hard.
Bad night. I was standing by the Nile. Seven cows came up out of the river, fat and healthy, and grazed in the reeds. Then seven more came up, thin and sickly, and ate the fat ones.

Fell back asleep. Seven heads of grain on one stalk, full and ripe. Then seven thin ones, scorched by the east wind, swallowed them.

And after they’d eaten the fat ones, the thin cows looked no better. I have never seen such ugly cows in all of Egypt.
Some news. I’ve put Joseph over all the land of Egypt. My house, my people, all of it. Only the throne is above him. My own ring is on his finger.

I am Pharaoh. But without his say-so, nobody in Egypt lifts a hand or a foot.
Told Joseph to tell his brothers: load up, go home to Canaan, and bring your father and your families back here. I’ll give you the best of Egypt. You’ll eat the best the land has.

And take wagons from Egypt for your children and your wives. Don’t worry about your things. The best of all Egypt is yours.
