Tents. Teaching. Hospitality.

My husband Aquila and I make tents. Emperor Claudius threw all the Jews out of Rome, so we moved to Corinth, and then a tentmaker called Paul turned up looking for work. Later we lived in Ephesus. Churches meet in our house wherever we go.

Rome, then Corinth and EphesusFirst seen Acts 18:2

Known for

  • Working with Paul as tentmakers in Corinth (Acts 18:2–3)
  • Taking Apollos aside to explain the way of God more fully (Acts 18:26)
  • Paul says they risked their necks for him (Romans 16:3–4)

Apollos, from Alexandria. Brilliant speaker, knows the Scriptures inside out, full of fire. But he only knew about John’s baptism. So Aquila and I took him aside and explained the way of God to him more accurately.

Aquila and I send our love, Corinth. So does the church that meets at our house.
