My husband has died. He was one of Elisha’s prophets, and Elisha knows he honoured the LORD. Now the man he owed money to is coming to take my two boys as slaves. Elisha asked what I’ve got in the house. Nothing. One jar of oil.

My husband was one of the prophets who followed Elisha. He honoured the LORD. He also owed money, and when he died the man came for my sons.

My boys kept bringing jars and I kept pouring. I asked for another one and my son said: that’s the last one. And the oil stopped. Sold it, paid off the debt, and we’re living on what’s left.
