Solomon’s son. Listened to the wrong people.
Son of Solomon and Naamah, an Ammonite. King at forty-one. The tribes asked me to go easier on them than my father did, and I gave them the answer my friends wrote for me. Ten tribes walked. I kept Judah and Benjamin, and Jerusalem. Seventeen years on the throne.
