I was a boy when we walked through the sea. Never thought I’d do it twice.
Walls of water. One on the right, one on the left. And we’re walking between them.

I was a boy the night we left Egypt.
One of the few in the camp old enough to remember Egypt. I was a child when we walked through the sea, too young to be counted with the men who died in the desert. The Bible doesn’t give my name.

The night we left Egypt, we ate it dressed to travel. Sandals on, staff in hand. I was only little.
