First in line. Said no.

A relative of Elimelech in Bethlehem, closer to him than Boaz. That made me first in line to buy back his land. The book doesn’t give my name.

BethlehemFirst seen Ruth 4:1

Known for

• Saying “I will redeem it”, then “I cannot” (Ruth 4:4–6)
• Taking off his sandal and handing it to Boaz (Ruth 4:8)
