Turned from idols. Waiting for him.
I used to worship idols. Then Paul, Silas and Timothy came to Thessalonica, the big port city of Macedonia, and I believed. They had to leave in a hurry, and life has been hard for us here ever since. We’re waiting for Jesus to come back.

That was our church. Paul and Silas had to be got out of the city, and since then we’ve had a hard time of it from people here.

So we dragged Jason and some of the believers in front of the city officials instead. These men who’ve turned the world upside down have come here too, and Jason’s put them up! Some of us have died since we believed. What happens to them when the Lord comes back?

People here are rattled. Someone says they’ve had a message from the Spirit, and there’s a letter going round that’s supposed to be from Paul. They all say the same thing: the day of the Lord has already come.
