Jesus is coming through Jericho and the whole town's out on the street. Chief tax collector, rich, and short, so I can't see a thing over the crowd. So I've run on ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig.

Chief tax collector in Jericho. Very rich, and everyone knows how I got that way. Not very tall, so when Jesus came through town I climbed a sycamore-fig to see him. He stopped under my tree and said my name.
