We believed. Then it got worse.
One of the elders of the Israelites in Egypt. Moses and Aaron gathered us and showed us the signs. Later I was one of the seventy who went up the mountain.

Leaders over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens now. The small cases go to them. The hard ones still go to Moses.
Seventy of us went up. We saw the God of Israel. Under his feet, something like sapphire, clear as the sky. And we ate and drank.

The line I can’t stop thinking about. Among us, he said, not even a dog will growl. So Egypt knows the LORD treats Egypt and Israel differently.
Every household picks a lamb today. A male, a year old, nothing wrong with it. Sheep or goat, either’s fine. Keep it until the fourteenth.

That day the LORD saved Israel from Egypt. We saw his power with our own eyes. We’re in awe of him now. We trust him. And we trust his servant Moses.
