Jesus is at ours and I'm doing everything. Everything. My sister Mary is just sitting at his feet, listening. So I asked him: Lord, don't you care that she's left me to do it all on my own? Tell her to help me.

Lord, if you'd been here.
I live in Bethany, just outside Jerusalem, with my sister Mary and my brother Lazarus. Jesus loves the three of us. When he comes, I'm the one who goes out to meet him, and I'm the one serving dinner. I say what I think.

Lazarus had been in the tomb four days when Jesus got here. I went out to meet him. Mary stayed at home. I told him: Lord, if you'd been here, my brother wouldn't have died.

He asked me if I believe this. I do. I believe he's the Christ, the Son of God, the one who was meant to come into the world.
Went out to meet him on the road. First thing I said: Lord, if you’d been here, my brother wouldn’t have died. But I know that even now, God will give you whatever you ask him.

He said my brother will rise again. I said I know he will. At the resurrection, on the last day.
He said this to me, on the road outside our village. Then he asked me straight: do you believe this? Yes, Lord. I believe you’re the Christ, the Son of God, the one who was coming into the world.
I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me will live, even though they die.Replying to @maryofbethany
The same thing I said to him.

He reminded me of what he’d told me on the road. If I believe, I’ll see the glory of God.

Jesus told him to leave her alone. She’s kept it for the day of his burial.
