Sent to the jail this morning to bring the apostles to the council. Doors locked tight, guards standing at the doors. We open up. Nobody inside. Can’t explain it.

Sent to fetch the prisoners.
One of the officers of the temple guard in Jerusalem. We keep order in the temple courts and do what the council tells us.

The captain sent us over with the priests. Arrested them, Peter and John. It’s evening, so they’re in custody till morning.
The high priest and his people, the Sadducees, have had enough. We’ve arrested the apostles. All of them. Public jail.

Went and got them. Politely. The crowd would have stoned us otherwise.
The people are stirred up, and the elders and teachers of the law with them. Stephen’s been seized and brought to the council.
