No because someone's just told the king two Israelite men got into town tonight to spy on us. And they went to Rahab's. The house built into the city wall.

Gates shut. Everyone talking.
Canaanite, living in Jericho in the days when Israel was camped across the river. News travels fast inside a walled city. The Bible doesn't give my name.
First seen Joshua 2:2

King's men have gone tearing off down the road to the Jordan crossings after them. Gate shut behind them.
Gates locked. Nobody in, nobody out. And every morning they just walk round the walls, horns and that chest of theirs at the front, and go back to camp. Not a word out of them. Honestly, it's creepy.
Day four of walking round Jericho in total silence. Not complaining. Not allowed to, technically.Everyone in Jericho has heard about this. Their God dried up the sea for them when they left Egypt. And more recently, Sihon and Og, the two kings over the river. Now they’re camped right across from us. Nobody’s got any nerve left.
The sea has split. There’s a way through the middle. Dry ground.Did you hear? Two strangers came into the city tonight and went to Rahab’s, the house built into the city wall. Someone’s told the king. They’re Israelites. Spies.

Two blokes don’t just vanish.

Down our end the riverbed’s just empty. Nothing’s flowing down to the Salt Sea.
They crossed. With the river in flood. Every king from here to the coast has heard about it, and nobody’s got any fight left.

Their whole camp’s sat at Gilgal, right on our doorstep.

Thousands of them down there and not one voice. Just the horns. Proper eerie.
