Has anyone not heard about this teacher yet? People are turning up from Galilee, the Ten Towns, Jerusalem, Judea, across the Jordan. Everywhere, honestly.

The crowds

Everyone’s talking about him.
Pilgrims, locals, people who saw the bread, people who only heard about it. We follow him round the lake and argue about him at the festivals. Some of us think he’s the Prophet. Some of us think he’s the Christ. Some of us aren’t sure what to think.

Nobody teaches like this. He speaks like he actually has authority. Not like our teachers of the law.
A man who couldn’t talk because of an evil spirit. Jesus drove it out and the man started talking. Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.

Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.

The way he answers them, though.

Seriously, what is this? A new teaching, and with real authority. He gives orders to evil spirits and they obey him.
Replying to @jesus
No because there were so many of us he had to teach from a boat.
We were there for the loaves. He had us sit down in groups on the green grass, hundreds and fifties. Every one of us ate till we were full.
Thousands of people, getting late, middle of nowhere. We told him to send them off to the villages to buy food. He says, “You give them something to eat.” Right. We had five loaves and two fish.Replying to @mark
He told us not to tell anyone. We told everyone. He does everything well.

We told him to be quiet. Then Jesus stopped and called him, and suddenly it was, cheer up, get up, he’s calling you.
Asked John what we're actually meant to do. His list: 1. Two shirts? Give one to someone who has none. Same with food. 2. Tax collectors: not a penny more than you're owed. 3. Soldiers: no threats, no lies. Be happy with your pay.

He said every one of them unties their ox or donkey on the Sabbath to give it water. So why shouldn't this daughter of Abraham be set free, after eighteen years? The people against him were embarrassed. The rest of us were thrilled.
When he got to the owner giving the vineyard to others, we said it out loud. No. That must never happen.
Last of all he sent his son. But the tenants said, “This is the heir. Let’s kill him.” The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. He's come back out across the Jordan, where John used to baptise, and loads of us came out to him. John never did a single sign. But everything he said about this man was true.
Word's gone round the festival crowd that he's on his way into Jerusalem. We grabbed palm branches and went out to meet him. Hosanna! God bless the one who comes in the Lord's name, the King of Israel!

Wait. Aren’t these all from Galilee? How is every one of us hearing them in our own language?
Replying to @simonpeter
Honestly, that cut deep. A lot of us asked Peter and the others right there: so what do we do?
Replying to @barnabas
The gods have come down to us looking like men!

Followed him from our town to the next one. We’re not the only ones. There are people here from Jerusalem, from Judea, from across the Jordan.

We heard. Everyone’s heard.
Walked out to the middle of nowhere to find him. Got there and half of Galilee had had the same idea.

Elijah. Has to be.

Half the country walked out to the Jordan to hear that man.
Replying to @thecrowds
He fed five thousand of us from five loaves. Imagine that as king.

Is he all right? It never takes this long.

John never did a single sign. But everything he said about this man has turned out to be true.

Jesus. The prophet from Nazareth, in Galilee.

Hang on. Aren’t these all Galileans?

Then how is every one of us hearing them in our own language? What does this mean?
Replying to @simonpeter
That went straight through us. Peter, the rest of you: what do we do?
Replying to @simonpeter
We have. Every day, for years.
Replying to @simonpeter
Wiped away. All of it?
